Dr. Thomas A. Cruz-Soto, Jr. Dean of Student Services – Riverside City College At Riverside City College, Dr. Cruz-Soto proudly serves as Dean of Student Services. Providing leadership and oversight to historic categorical and grant funded programs like, EOPS/CARE, Veterans Resource Center, CalWorks, TRIO/Upward Bound programs, the Disability Resource Center, and Foster Youth and the Guardian Scholars Resource Center. Dr. Cruz-Soto also serves as the Chief Student Conduct Officer for the college and Co-Chair of the RCC CARES behavior Intervention Team. Cruz-Soto earned his bachelor's degree in secondary education with a minor in Latin American studies in 1998 from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In 2004, he secured his master's degree in higher education administration from Rowan University, in Glassboro, New Jersey. Dr. Cruz-Soto completed his doctoral studies in education leadership (Rowan University) as of May 2017. Born in an inner-city, (Camden, New Jersey) from a poor socioeconomic background, Cruz-Soto has benefited greatly (as a 1st Generation Student) from pre-college programs that pushed him towards higher education. Cruz-Soto is a student affairs champion and has made an impact throughout his life positively influencing the lives of young people both on a domestic and global scale. In 2022, Cruz-Soto was selected for the Dr. Ted Martinez, Jr., National Community College Hispanic Council (NCCHC) Fellow’s Program and proudly represents as one of 24 great scholar practitioners in the nation, representing loudly for Latino(x) people across the country and globally.
