ABOUT THE POSITION

Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Services and the Vice President of Academic Affairs or designees, the Associate Dean of Academic Success, Inclusion and Support Services provides leadership, oversight and evaluates the operations and activities of supporting disproportionately impacted student groups, learning communities, and a special focus on interventions for groups such as African American and South East Asian students. In addition, provides administrative support and leadership for outreach to those students lost as a result of the pandemic, supports students through re-engagement and retention efforts, and leads persistence efforts. The Associate Dean provides opportunities for involvement by faculty and staff, as appropriate, in consideration and discussion of the development of policy, procedures, and programs. The leadership, supervision, planning, implementation, and coordination responsibilities entail working with managers, faculty, staff, students, appropriate college committees, and community partners (e.g., Long Beach Unified School District, California State University, Long Beach, and community-based organizations) to ensure that the programs are meeting student needs and are in alignment with college goals, objectives, strategic plan and initiatives.
